Default Google Street View car in Calgary area

So Google is supposed to be in the Calgary area doing street view mapping. Has anyone seen the car driving around? And if so where?

Thanks if you can help!

Thanks photon! Anyone with any more up to the minute data? Or does anyone know any other ways to figure out exactly where they are working at any specific time?

What goes into Forest Lawn does not leave Forest Lawn. Hope they have more cars.

Also... does anyone know how soon after the google car goes by an area that the image goes up on Google maps?

BTW, I'm investigating this for GISHWES. If you don't know what that is, don't google it, it's a giant time sink you don't want to be dragged into!

It can be a really long time, I passed one going past my kid's school one day and it was many many months (maybe even a year) before I remember seeing it. I've heard people say within weeks though, so it depends I guess.

Google does give some info about where the cars are but they're pretty vague.

I'm guessing they must be doing Cranston and Stoney Trail stuff and other other things like that. Since they aren't currently on Street View because they are too new. But if the images don't go up within days, then it's hopeless for my purposes anyway.

Ok, this is going to sound weird, but does Google also use drones to take some street view pics?

Today on Glenmore west of Chinook, there were a couple of white drones with cameras flying just above the height of (semi) traffic.

Could be weeks, or more likely months... depends on if they're re-doing the whole city or not. They could also be reshooting for Lethbridge, Edmonton, etc, then get them all up at the same time.

That sounds pretty dangerous. People keep doing dumb stuff like that and then wonder why they get so regulated.

Yup, the one I passed in front of my kid's school was taking pictures so I can see my car. EDIT: I presume you mean other than in your driveway

It drove past my house (Douglasdale) about 4 weeks ago while I was standing on the drive way and watching it go by. So it's been here for a while.

It's equally as exciting as it sounds.

That drone sighting gives me an idea. I saw a kid spitting off the bridge onto unsuspecting cars this evening. Next time I see that, I'm gonna have a drone ready from my balcony that I'll pilot over him and dump human excrement on his forehead.

Have they updated the street view of your house yet?

Yeah I saw them too so they might be here for a while yet. There's still some parts of Calgary with pictures from 2009 so I'd guess all of those areas will get photographed. Majority of Alberta seems to have been done from May to October of 2012... so I'm not sure if they do it on a rotating basis sorta thing or what.
