I've been compiling a bunch of clips from this season to make a video in honor of Johnny's rookie season.
This season was truly exciting the fans but what makes it so special, is that he was a big part of the Flames success in making the playoffs for the first time in six years.
I can't remember a better rookie season for a Calgary Flame so with that in mind here's the video and I hope you all like it!

The Gaudreau to Hudler back to Gaudreau goal against Dallas was magical.
Maybe I missed it, but my favorite goal this year was Gaudreau to Wideman, back to Gaudreau, against the ducks http://video.flames.nhl.com/videocen...sole?id=777250

I'm still shocked 103 players were chosen before him in the 2011 draft.
I really hope this opens NHL scouts eyes cause small players shouldn't be overlooked anymore in today's NHL.
I would rather see players with natural skill then just size, it's players like Gaudreau that get fans watching and people out of their seats at games.
Great video! It really does feel surreal to have a player with Johnny's incredible hockey skill injected into a lineup that has lacked that kind of skill for a while. He's a real game changer

That Gaudreau hat trick game vs LA in my mind is that career defining, coming of age game for future hall of famers that meant so much more than just a stolen 2 points. The Gaudreau-Hudler-Monahan line also started to become a regular line shortly after if I remembrr right.
Calgary was about to lose their 9th straight game, down 3-0.
They were about to lose to LA, who as it turns out was who the Flames ended up fighting off to make the playoffs.
Gaudreau was on the end of a few unlucky breaks in the losing streak, including a game losing giveaway on a blown tire.
How many would think back that the playoffs would have come down to the wire as it did, and that was the game that ultimately got them into the playoffs?
We will see a lot more games similiar to this in the future, deep in the playoffs.
