Default How do I watch the Flames in the playoffs?

I am not sure if this should go here or in the off topic forumn, but regardless, I need your help!

With me traveling so much this past year I opted not to get NHL center ice down here in Houston. My travel schedule has slowed down just in time for the playoffs. Looking at NHL center ice it appears they do not include NHL playoff games. Does anyone know how I can watch the Flames playoff games down here? I am willing to spend whatever it takes to watch them as long as I can watch it on my tv and it is extremely good quality. I own a smart tv so downloading and subcribing to an app or website is a possibility.

Can I stream the games through CBC somehow or NBC Sports?

In years past, I've used NHL Center Ice (I now use NHL GameCenter) to watch Flames games, and playoff games were always included.

On my cable system (Time-Warner), NHL Center Ice and MLB Extra Innings use the same block of 20 channels, so until the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs, I was able to watch all the baseball games that I wanted without having to buy MLB Extra Innings.

You might also want to wait until the schedule comes out.
I think NBC is planning to air most playoff games on NBC, NBCSports, MSNBC, & CNBC.

Exactly what I was going to say. I subscribe to Gamecenter Live, but I currently live in Tulsa and I recall most if not all playoff games being aired on the NBC network channels last year. If you want a specific home/away broadcast I believe Gamecenter has a discounted price as opposed to paying for the whole year for access to playoff games. They have a Gamecenter Live app you can download onto your smart tv and as long as your internet connection is strong, I recommend it.

If you did enough travelling maybe you got enough points to fly to Calgary and see the flames play live? Granted I have no problem spending other peoples money.

This is my first year with GameCenter and I don't have cable so am I basically screwed for the playoffs? My understanding is that the games will be blacked out on GCL if shown on network TV.

You might be.

You could try the NBC Sports "Live Extra" app, but you might need to sign in with a cable provider to see anything that's not on the NBC over-the-air broadcast network.

Might OTA work for you for network broadcasts? Or are many on the sports network side of NBC?

There are lots of NHL/sports streaming sites out there that aren't exactly legal. Most come with annoying ads and the possibility of viruses though. A place like Redditt might be somewhere to ask around.

If you don't mind paying, just go with NHL game centre then you know it is safe and the quality is good.

Will Gamecenter in the US be different than Canada?

Looks like I am going the illegal route - damn blackout rules

Quote:
Nationally televised games are also subject to blackouts in NHL GameCenter LIVE™ as well. In the United States all Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Final games will be nationally televised.

If you have regular cable, I believe NBC and ESPN will be covering 100% of the games.
