Default I am a thread that wants to die now because Edmonton most certainly isn't sorta good

This fulfills an OOT promise I made. This thread only needs to stay a day.
No need to post in it.

Disclaimer: OP does not actually agree with the contents of the title in this thread

Lol! I think we need to keep this thread going as the OIL go on a season ending win streak!

That would be all the reason they need to stay the course.

The Oilers may not be good enough at being good to make the playoffs, or good enough at being bad to out-tank Buffalo and Arizona. But they are good enough to make a damn fine speed bump in L.A.'s road to the playoffs.

wha? why is the Edmonton is no good thread locked up?

For all those who made the deal to "not mock the Oilers until after the season ended" keep in mind that Oiler fans never wanted to win against the Kings. It would've meant a meaningless win and more importantly, it would've helped the Flames. The last thing they want is giving more ammo to Flames Fans for making the playoffs after a 1-2 year rebuild.

After tonight's game, instead of mocking the Oilers for their own stupidity for allowing their most hated rival a greater chance to sneak in, Flame Fans are thanking them...

WTF?...

Oiler fans wont reject a "Thank you"... if there was a choice where they could look less like idiots and more like saviors, over looking more like idiots of course they'll want to look like heroes. It's easier to say "you're welcome" and "we meant to do that" instead of "wow, this is so embarrassing"

Don't stop laughing at Oiler fans. Karma has allowed us to have this right after all the glory 80s and the 5 cup BS we've had to endure for the last 30 years.
If we dont take advantage of this to its fullest extent, we may live to regret it

Edmonton is no good

I agree with Pizza that it is a sad day when the greatest thread on CP gets locked because a couple of posters decided to.

If some don't want to post there anymore, they have that right. Closing the most epic thread on CP makes no sense.

I was looking forward to great commentary about the goal from centre. Do Flames fans need to look elsewhere for that content now?

The NHL said it was OK. The NHL said it was OK. The NHL said it was OK.

Were you on the site last night? It felt like it was on the verge of crashing. It needed to be renewed anyway, so I think we can all agree to hold off on starting the new one for a couple of days in recognition and respect of their modern-day franchise miracle last night.

So your strategy is to make the site less interesting so it will generate less traffic and not crash?

Taking down the most interesting thread is definitely the right thing to do for that plan.

Great work by Edmonton and a great story how they rallied around Bachman

Here's a fun scenario...

Calgary beats LA tomorrow and Vancouver beats Arizona.

Calgary beats Winnipeg in the early game on Saturday.

In the final game of the NHL regular season, the Oilers play the Canucks, and, if they win, Calgary gets home ice advantage.

THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN.

They really are no good though. Just watching that 3rd period and rooting them on to win highlighted how bad they are as it was comical from the long goal to the miscues all over the ice. If you are an Oilers fan you are hoping to see something that indicates things will be better next year but what I saw was incriminating evidence that this team is likely going to be every bit as bad next year as they were this year as there was zero structure and essentially five separate guys on the ice just playing hockey like they have never played in a pro system before. Just awful and quite frankly the Kings (except Doughty who seemed like the only guy that cared) should be ashamed for losing that game.
