CBS Sports article: Monahan is a beast!
Didn't see it posted yet and it's definitely worth a read: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-...for-the-future

Interesting, because they didn't even touch on his two-way play. I don't have enough hockey knowledge to really assess that, but Hartley was on the Fan960 this afternoon talking about it. He said something like "Monahan could have been one of those young guys who decides to go for 100 points, but he didn't... he plays the right way"... Meaning he plays a strong two-way game.
Very interesting comments from Hartley, worth a listen.

I read this article earlier today. Didn't really like the tone of the writer, essentially suggesting that we're in the playoff hunt purely based on fluke, but I guess I'm too biased.

Don't think you are biased, the guy sounds like a typical pencil neck spreadsheet nit, who hasn't seen Monahan to comment on his two-way play. Typical Corsi/PDO nonsense.

I think it is really nice to see that Monahan is a two way player. Very smart when it comes to playing defence and effective in most scenarios.

When CBS starts providing better hockey coverage, I will give them some time out of my day.
I'll accept credit they give to Monahan, and ignore the rest.

That is one of the worst articles I have wasted my time on. Terribly written, terrible use of stats, blatant fact mistakes...
Bleh.

I stop reading any article about the Flames at the word 'sustainability'. So, eleven words in on this one.

Too many Debbie Downer's...yeesh.
Yesterday it was the front (splash page) article on a Flames player and you can't see the positives in this?
Where is the national spotlight on a Flames player outside of Calgary? Give him credit for recognizing Monahan for being an incredible talent in his second year, only being 20 years old, and the comparable player statistics that were prominently written about.
National Fames media coverage is better than being ignored and a featured article about one of our future league standout players is pretty cool.

I'm kind of mad. I saw the writers last name was "Gretz" and I was just compelled to read it. That's not even fair.
