Default QOTD: Who do you want to see win tonight? Wpg or Van?

This is a tough one.

The details:

Calgary is 2 points back of Vancouver, the Canucks have a game in hand.
Calgary is 2 points back of Winnipeg, even games.

The Canucks have the 17th toughest schedule the rest of the way
The Jets have the 2nd toughest schedule the rest of the way
(The Flames have the 18th toughest schedule)

Clearly a regulation win for either team is preferable to a 3 point game so I won't list that as an option.

However with the Wild splitting away, if the Kings catch fire the loser of tonight's game is Calgary's most likely target if they want to find a playoff spot.

Who are you cheering for?

Jets for sure. We can catch the nucks so I want them to lose every game, I also hate everyone on the canucks.

As much as I hate Vancouver I will be cheering them on tonight. With the way teams are playing right now , have to hope the harder schedule hurts a teams chances.

Based on the extra game played and schedule strength I guess I'd say it's more likely that the Flames catch the Jets than the Canucks, but I don't think there's any particularly bad outcome aside from a three point game.

Canucks because they will win the easy games on their schedule which should be enough to get in and although the Jets seem to be winning the tough games I believe if one of these team suffers a hiccup it's going to be the Jets.

Really though as long as the game doesn't go into extra time I really don't care who wins as it's getting really old watching every team in the race win their games on the OOT scoreboard.

Flames will pick up at least one point on one of these teams so that's a positive. Hopefully two points on someone.

According to sportsclubstats, Flames odds improve with a Vancouver win... so I suppose that's what I want.

Seems like Vancouver is out of reach with the extra game in hand with less than 10 games to go. I vote for a VAN win in regulation, though I really don't think we'll catch either of them. Just have to stay ahead of LA.

I just don't think I could ever cheer for the Canucks, so by default it's the Jets.

At this point, Vancouver. A Jets loss technically puts us ahead of them in the standings, which would add a second team against whom we would control our own destiny.

Remove the emotion and this is an easy call. We aren't catching the Canucks. We play similar opponents, but more of our games are on the road. A Jets regulation loss puts us two points back from them with a game in hand, increasing our chances at the wildcard spot.

I feel a little dirty saying it, but Go 'nucks go.

Gotta cheer for the Jets. Hopefully it is in regulation too. This is why

If Jets win:
Jets have 88 points in 73 games. With the win, Jets will have 90 points in 74 games.
Nucks will have 88 points in 73 games. Possible 90 points in 74 games.
"We" have 86 points in 73. Possible 88 points in 74 games.
It allows "us" to keep close to all the teams.

If Nucks win:
Jets stay at 88 points in 74 games.
Nucks have 90 points in 73 games. Possible 92 points in 74 games.
"We" would be able to tie the Jets and have the tie breaker. Nucks would be pulling farther away from "us".

I'd rather have all teams close because "we" own the tiebreakers. Plus we would be fighting for 5th, 6th, and 8th spot instead of just 6th and 8th.

I don't agree that removing the emotion makes this an easy call at all.

You take the final wildcard spot from Winnipeg and you get St. Louis or Anaheim in the first round.

Voted Jets for 2 Reasons:

1. Can't possibly cheer for Vancouver
2. Jets schedule gets really tough after tonight...I think the Jets take these two points from Vancouver then come back down to earth.

Canucks. I hate 'em but Calgary needs a safer cushion than they have currently.

So what? Are you saying if it came down to it, you would rather have flames miss playoffs than face Blues or Ducks?

Flames have a better shot of advancing if they finish 2-3 in the pacific rather than a wildcard so go Jets go

Screw the Jets.
Take the exact same scenario but replace Canucks with the kings, everyone would vote for the Kings. We are not catching the Canucks, but pulling the jets back down makes it three teams for two spots which is a lot better than two teams for one spot.
Also I love seeing the Jets fan base panic after a loss.

I went Winnipeg ...

The Jets seem to have big stones, they just win regardless of who they play. I don't see them missing.

The Canucks seem to be held together with spit and bird droppings, Lack could crumble, I just see a more fragile team.

I would still vote the same. I also hate the Kings.
