Sharks Win 3 Straight
Last night, the San Jose Sharks got a bittersweet victory over the #1 team in the Eastern Conference Pittsburgh Penguins as they extended their win streak to 3 games but lost #1 Centre Kyle Turris.
Once again, the Sharks 4th line provided the majority of the offense as Brad Richards and Sean Bergenheim each had a goal and an assist. Newly promoted 3rd line Centre Maxime Talbot also had a goal and an assist while 5 other Sharks players recorded an assist, with Zidlicky getting a pair of helpers.
Turris suffered a leg injury in the 2nd period and is expected to be out for at least the next 3 games. Andrei Markov was also injured in the game further proving that Pens GM Goffie should buy him out and pick up Nicklas Lidstrom.
After the game, screams of "AKULA!" could be heard throughout the arena, presumably from Pens goalie Ilya Bryzgalov. Unconfirmed reports say he was removed from the arena in a straight jacket dragged to the team bus by Ryan Johansen and PK Subban.
The Sharks will try to make it 4 in a row when they face off against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
3 Stars:
