Default QOTD: Flames "out" again, where are nerves?

With only 12 games left to play the Flames are back on the outside looking in.

San Jose seems to have taken a bullet, but the Wild, Canucks, Jets and Kings are all rolling making it pretty tough to stay above water if you lose two games in a row.

Calgary has played .500 in their past 4 games despite a back to back with travel and tough games against Anaheim and St. Louis.

Has your comfort level of a playoff spot changed?

Ups and downs are to be expected and I expected them to be in and out of the playoffs down the stretch. Really don't think the teams around them can continue to win every single night. Plus teams play each other as we go down the stretch. Relax folks...enjoy the ride.

For the vast majority of the year, I've been cool as a cucumber, because I just didn't expect this team to make the playoffs and thought anything approaching it is just a nice bonus. Whatever happened, happened.

Of course as soon as I let myself be taken over by the momentum and good vibes surrounding the team, and start actively hoping for the playoffs...they fall out of the race. Bah!

I have given up doubting this team, after the year they've had, I feel its inevitable that they will find a way to make it in, I'm staying cool.

Guarantee our playoff hopes will come down to the wire with LA and Winnipeg with our last 2 games.

Put "No change" but only because I've been tempering expectations since Jan/Feb. Of course I want them to make it, but, I'm trying to remind myself that this is not the finished 'rebuild' project, and that the season has already been a success.

It would still suck if they miss, but I'm trying to take a perspective that will help lessen the blow, in the event of missing.

As such, Go Flames Go, and finish the year strong!

No change, expected some setbacks in that stretch

We're playing with house money, everything else is gravy.

Not worried at all. Everything from here on in is gravy. Young players are learning how to play in pressure situations even if we don't make the playoffs. Silver lining if we don't get to the dance is a shot at McDavid and better drafting position every round in a very good draft.

Still in our hands, I wasn't expecting the team to finish 14-0.

Not worried one bit. Said at the start of the year I didn't expect them to make it and deep down in my heart I know it's a very realistic possibility. Every expectation has been exceeded and everything from this point on is gravy. We aren't getting any help from the OOT scoreboard and never will. We've lost our #1 Dman and eventually it will catch up.

no real change

i expected a few losses and like Finger Cookin already said - i didn't expect the flames to go 14-0 to finish the season

i all honesty i'm just thrilled with how well the flames have played this season - playoffs or no playoffs. don't get me wrong - i WANT the flames in the playoffs, but think back to september/october when so many 'experts' said the flames would be below the oilers in the standings.

i must say that i'm very happy with this 'rebuild' season.

also, until LA wins tonight in my minds the Flames are still in a spot

they have the tie breaker the whole games in hand thing is silly in my mind, Flames have more ROW

Except "last ten" doesn't matter. They all won more points then we have and now we're chasing.

I have a bad feeling we will finish with 96 or 97 points and still miss.

Every team will lose some games and their fans will be worried. And they will win some games and their fans will get over-confident.

Having said that, I have a bad feeling that they are going to go cold at the worst time and struggle on this home-stand. But even if that happens, I won't be disappointed. This season has been awesome, regardless of how it turns out.

I've always been of the opinion that this isn't a playoff team especially with Giordano out. IMO if they don't get two points against the Flyers they are done. Losing 3 in a row at with at this stage leaves their margins too thin as I don't even think the Oilers will be an easy out on the schedule as being spoilers to the Flames season will be their Stanley Cup.

Actually LA has the same points and doesn't have the tie breaker

Flames will be 90% in with 96

97 is a LOCK

seriously guys these teams play each other

not saying they are getting there but those point totals put you in a spot
