Default March 10 Practice - Ramo starts vs Ducks. Shore doubtful.

3 Flames missing from practice. Likely maintenance days

Quote:
Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
Not spotted at #Flames practice: RW Josh Jooris and D Kris Russell.

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames C Drew Shore is also not practising today. So ... no Russell, Jooris or Shore.
More updates as they come

After all the blocked shots Russell took on this road trip, I am not surprised

Keep in mind players may be place holders for Jooris, Shore and Russell

Quote:
Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames lines today w/ Jooris, Shore missing:
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler,
Bouma-Backlund-Jones,
Raymond-Poirier-Colborne,
Ferland-Stajan-Bollig

Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
With Kris Russell out this AM, Corey Potter is on a D pairing with Dennis Wideman.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Poirier likely taking Jooris's spot at center on the third line at practice. Potter skated in place of Russell with Wideman. #Flames

We can't afford to loose Russel, who will stop all the big troubles for the little Flames?

My guess is that there are some post road trip maintenance days for those players.
If Wideman was skating with Brodie, I would be more worried, as that points to a lineup shift.

Was Brodie with Diaz or Engelland?

Apparently Ramo is starting tomorrow.

I think Hiller would be the correct choice.

I really think Bollig will be out tomorrow. He had what 5 minutes of ice time in the last game? So much more potential with any of the other guys.

I'd rather have Brodie with Engelland, who at least ices the puck, rather than Diaz who constantly turns it over under pressure.

I can see why Ramo would start. See if he still has the hot hand or not with this fresh start. If not, then Hiller most likely starts the next few.

Meh, Ramo played exceptionally well on the road trip. I'm okey with giving him a mulligan on the Ottawa game, plus Hiller got tuned up in the last game against the Ducks. Maybe playing the goalie that the Ducks won't have as good a book on.

Maybe, but I'm okay with trying out Ramo against the Ducks, and it's not like Hiller won the shootout for us anyways. Career against Anaheim:

Ramo is 1-1-0 2.81 GAA .914SV%
Hiller is 1-2-0 3.43 GAA .889SV%
Ortio is 1-1-0 4.09 GAA .818SV%

....Ramo hasn't played them yet this season.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
As per Bob Hartley, Drew Shore (did not skate today) is doubtful for tomorrow's game.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
Kris Russell and Josh Jooris also did not skate today but Bob Hartley said they are good to go for tomorrow's game.
