Spring forward
I have to say this kind of came at me out of the blue this year, but tonight set your clocks an hour ahead. Take it easy on the roads Monday morning as well...

I hate this time of year, that hour screws with my internal clock.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I whine about this every year, and it's still a thing. I like the 1/2 hour plan. Just do it. Maybe the whole world can agree to this, so that time zones aren't all f-ed up on account of a few whiners on CP. It'd be neat - the first act of global co-operation.

Even half an hour in winter would have kids going to school in the dark. My son's school is later than most start times- and he was walking just before sunrise.
I suppose you could change school start times to be after sunrise. But then you'd have to adjust work start times, rush hour, transit times. So really changing a whole lot of stuff just for the few people who make a big deal about a 1 hour time change.
I also think DST is a good practice for traveling. If you can't handle a 1 hour change, going overseas may not be for you either.

My kid goes to school in the dark anyway. Bus pickup is at 7:15.
How do the kids in Saskatchewan survive? They don't change from standard time.
I'm probably just cranky this year because he has an early game tomorrow.

I don't like the practice of DST. I would prefer to abolish it like Saskatchewan, Colombia, Russia and other places around the world have done.

I love having light later, this weekend is always the first big boost of the year for me. I'd hate for them to abolish it, as I'd rather have light at 11pm in June than at 3 am.

Yeah, DST has never bothered me.

Now that every clock and device I have makes the change automatically, I really don't have an opinion either way about DST. Doesn't bother me

Huge fan of DST when it was all "fall back" fun and games in November... Less so now that the "spring ahead" day of reckoning is finally upon us.
Personally could do without it but I suppose it doesn't bother me that much. Beyond trying to remember again how to set all the hard-to-set clocks in the house.

I hate losing an hour of light in the evenings every winter. I don't care about driving to work in the dark, but I hate having it dark when I leave work. More than that, I got into jogging last summer and I've done my best to stick with it in the winter, which meant leaving work early to have any chance at running in some light. This is a tough one out in Priddis as there are no pathways, only narrow shoulders.
I just don't see what good comes from it being dark at 5pm instead of 6pm

Spring back, fall forward?
So when I wake up on Monday it would have been 6am instead of the 5am the clock shows? Ugh.

I agree with you on this. I would rather have the sun set one hour later in the evening instead of it rising one hour earlier.

Yeah, something tells me that doing the same thing as Saskatchewan, Russia, and Columbia may not be a good idea. Not exactly the places you want to follow the lead of.

Tried getting my four-year-old to bed early tonight in preparation. I may as well have just let him sit up and drink with me, given how ineffective I was.
