Wow - glad the Flames weren't involved in this one. Coburn definitely went for an arm and a leg there.

Good deal both ways. TB gets a good defenseman in Coburn that will help them in the playoff run and a 1st rounder and 3rd rounder is good value for him. Maybe a bit high but he will help TB in the playoffs.

Well that ship sailed. Flames are in no position to give away their first round pick.

Crazy crazy return. Had an idea that was going to be the case on insanity day but was hoping taking Vinny would've mitigated some of that cost. Holy Shnikees.

Good return for Philly. I really like Gudas. Good replacement for Coburn and younger. Tampa gets a veteran dman for the playoffs. Wonder if this is NYR/TB's first and if it's TB's third or Edmonton's third?

With these returns I am prepared to put Wideman and or Russell on the market.
With salary retained on Wideman to drive up price.

Some of us even suggested Bollig and Raymond for Coburn and Lecavalier, damn true sellers market right now heading into tmrw. Hope the flames can somehow get a magic return like the Berra deal or something of that sort for Raymond or stajan. Fingers crossed.

Between this and Yandle, the Flames should really look at dealing Wideman.

1st + + is way too much to ask from the Flames anyway.

We should be sellers. Our season has been great, but with the prices the way they are Id say ship out Wideman, Hudler (maybe, maybe not due to his chemistry with Mony), Raymond, etc. And take advantage of it. Let's not forget were still rebuilding

I'd be all for that if the returns a first round pick + but I think seeing us in a playoff spot tonight heading into tmrw Treliving isn't going to sell that hard if at all.

Ugh imagine if this was the market the year we were shipping off Iggy, Regehr, Tanguay, Sarich, Langkow, Bouwmeester etc..

This is why using the previous deadline trades as comparable is a foolhardy venture. Fluctuates far too much year to year.
