Calgary interested in Coburn
Flyers beat writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull
#Flyers' Coburn still in play for potential deal. Calgary among teams believed to be in mix.

Question: If the cost of prying loose a serviceable Dman from Flyers is taking on Vinny Lecavalier's contract, would/should Calgary do it?

Not real keen on giving away picks, but if there were some kind of a deal where we took Vinny off their hands in order to get Coburn - maybe we toss in a middling prospect - I would be very interested in that

That exactly what I was thinking. Guys like Agostino, Hanowski, Reinhart. Have to wonder if any team thinks a guy like that will work on their team.

I could see Philly having a little interest in Agostino

Vinny on the Flames would be really weird.

This would be an amazing acquisition.
Question: why are the Flyers shopping him?

Vinny and Coburn for a small return, then offload Staj elsewhere.

As long as it's a part of a return for taking on Vinny's contract, I'm jacked. Would certainly help soften the Giordano blow. Signed for $4M next year then up, certainly no risk if the price is low enough.

guys please enlighten me as to why you would want Lecavalier on the Flames. Signed until 2018 ... that's a horrible contract and we have a lot of C depth already. YES to Coburn, but a big NO to Lecavalier.
