Well Haynes probably has some connections so hopefully Hartley rides Ramo out for this road trip unless he shats the bed and let Hiller come back refreshed and hungry. Karri's always done well under a high workload.

Karri's solid right now. Team can't seem to buy him a goal in some of these games but he's giving us a chance each night. After he sat idle for a long period of time and was a bit shaky for a game or two, some were quick to sell him down the creek (one poster even used the words "last game as a Flame" if I recall), but he has steadily improved with more play time and has kept the intrigue of the goalie tandem quite alive.

McBackup has made quite a NHL record for himself

Wonder if he feels ready to splurge on his own now instead of driving the family minivan to work?

With the need for some established teams to have some depth at goal for the playoffs. Would Ramo get a return to tempt the Flames?

Does McElhinney get his own lockeroom stall these days, or is he still sitting on an upturned garbage can?

I didn't think Ramo was going anywhere before, let alone now that Ortio's injured. Besides, I still think Rambo has more to prove in Calgary.

Wouldn't be smart for the Flames period. Ortios out till the beginning of April. Who replaces him? Thessian? No thank you.

We've been linked with both Raanta and Deslauriers. Neither would cost a fortune, and a desperate team might overpay for Ramo.

Two scenarios might be at play here:

A) Say Chicago still has an interest in Glencross. We flip him for Raanta and then flip Ramo for a high pick.

Or

B) We sign Deslauriers to be Hiller's backup and trade both Glencross and Ramo for high picks.

Personally I'd be more up for re-signing Ramo for next season and rolling with the same platoon we have now. Problem is Ortio might get impatient and lose the plot. There's also been very little (no) chatter about the Flames and Ramo negotiating an extension for next season. With that in mind I can't help but think he could be on the market.

Enough picks, we need prospects that are already a fair way along.

You only want to be pick-mongers if you're in Edmonton's position.

I have said it all year, Ramo has out performed Hiller most times this year and if it was me I would be keeping Ramo and Ortio into the future.

There are a few things I feel far safer while having Ramo in net.

I. ) Rebound Control
2.) Short side
3.) Lateral movement

I think we really should have ran with a 1a 1b instead of starter/backup. It brings out the best in both goalies and did so early in the season when they were still duking it out for the starter spot.
