Kypreos: Flames trying to move Raymond and Stajan
talked a bit about in the other thread, but I guess it could be discussed more

Deserves it's own thread, especially with Krypreos reiterating it.

Don't believe for a second that flames are thinking about trading Stajan before deadline. Just about to have a child and family went through hell last year during a birth. Flames to classy to trade him now. Maybe summer.
Also why are flames trying to shed salary? I get making hockey trades but shedding salary is something different.

Hard to see these as in season moves. They are depth moves for playoff teams I guess, but I don't understand the need to dump salary by Calgary.

Now why do they need to clear 6.275 million in cap?
EDIT: On top of an already available 12 million in cap space? Makes no sense at all. Even if you're going to bring in a cap hit Like Kessels.

Draft day trades? Can't see these moves happening before the end of the season

I see this as more of an offseason move, along with Bollig, Reinhart, Hanowski, and Engelland.

Why stop there, let's get the "looking to move Setoguchi" going while we are at it.

Clearly the Flamea aren't baby friendly and looking to send a message to other guys about starting families mid-season.

should be noted Stajan and Raymond have modified NTC.
exact details are not known, but in general it usually means they provide a list of 10 or so teams each summer they will or won't accept a trade to.

Please don't! I could see they are in the picture to get a bigger piece, but no trades with TO please. Leave those Leafs alone, don't help them.

Need, Want, whatever you want to call it. It's not something born of a whim. Don't you think it's a tad redundant to clear so much cap while you have so much already. Even optically it would appear to be a need if Kypreos is right in what he is saying.
EDIT: Even in the acquisition of a Kessel or something like that, seems a tad excessive knowing you're going to have to move out cap in the deal anyways.

We are going to have to pay someone to take him at this point. He has almost no value. Hasn't played an AHL game since early December due to injury.
