Default Looking for advice on where to get numbering done

I have a current gen flames jersey with Bourque on the back. The current team makes it so easy for me that the current 17 is Bouma so all I need to do is take the name bar in to get any M and A added. Would any companies do this? Or will they force me to buy the name in full? And how cheap would this be done for. Not looking to spend more than $20

You'd probably have to get a new name bar. I'm not sure how much that would be.

Perhaps they could reuse your letters to make the new name bar.

Besides, it would be awkwardly off centre if you stitched off 4 letters to replace with two letters.

If you're going to do it, I'd do it right. JMO

I saw a guy at a game last season who used duct tape to cover the "RQUE" on a Bourque jersey and had written "MA" on it in black marker. That made me laugh.

Great Plains Cresting (http://gpcresting.com/) is probably the best bet for getting it done right if anyone will do it for you. They do all the cresting for the Flames.

I used Great Plains recently and they are great. No question. Take your jersey over there and they can do the nameplate and change over for you. Fast and super reasonable pricing as well.

I recently had Great Plains change my Cammalleri jersey to a Gaudreau. They do great work, but they requested I remove the Cammalleri name plate myself. The reason, I'm sure, is because of the glue that's applied before it is stitched on. It took me about an hour to remove the plate but it was worth it. $40 well spent IMO.

You will have to buy a new name bar. The majority of the cost isn't from the letters, but the labour. Reusing the letters would look ratchet and not worth the hassle.

I have the same situation and was looking at doing this. So what was the best way to remove the current name bar?

Depends on how it was attached. The Cammy jerseys I changed to Gaudreau were a pain but were successful following these steps.

1) Use an Exacto knife and a ruler to cut through the thread around the perimeter of the name bar. DO NOT use the Exacto knife directly on the jersey, but only on the name bar. If you have more time and want to be safer, use a seam ripper, but the Exacto Knife is fairly safe as long as you only use it on the Name Bar.

If your jersey was "heat sealed" in the first place, you can skip this step.

2) After thread has been removed from the jersey, turn the jersey inside out and run a hot iron over the inside of the jersey where the namebar is for about 15-20 seconds. Depending on the amount of glue or adhesive used to attach the namebar to the jersey, it may come off easily first try in one piece. If there is a lot of glue on the inside, you may have to be patient and peal it off 1-2cm at a time with reheating the name bar after every attempt.

3) After the namebar is removed, make sure you lay the jersey flat on it's stomach with the numbers facing upwards while it cools off. You dont want the remaining glue or adhesive to buckle and stick to itself as this could easily damage the jersey.

I apologize for the grammar (on my phone) but hope this helps!
