Icon27 Seguin injured by Kulikov. Seguin out 3-6 weeks. UPD: Kulikov suspended 4 games

Kulikov clipped him. Got 5 min penalty and ejected from the game.

Initial reports are he is going to miss a bit of time

Ouch, that's a low hit.

Hopefully Seguin doesn't miss too much time, every point he gets makes me laugh a little harder at the Oilers.

Hopefully he recovers and is good for next season, but at this point Dallas losing their top scorer isn't exactly bad news for the Flames

Yeah, that ankle looked like it snapped. Right foot looks angled the wrong way.

Came to CP, saw this thread at the top, and immediately feared for my hockey pool.

Shocked that got 5+GM. Doesn't appear to knee or below which would be called clipping.

Very interested what the league thinks.

Not late and doesn't look to be low.

Must disagree. Looks to me like main contact is directly on the knee.

Per that Player Safety video, Kulikov's hit isn't clipping.

So I'm sure he'll be suspended for it.

Yeah it didn't look too bad, but he ducks down just a little too much at the last second making it a dangerous hit. Also, came from the side too much, which is how knees get injured, so it should be 5 and a game, but I don't know if he'll get more than 1-2 games for that.

There was a time when this was called a hip check....and it was applauded and celebrated.

True but they were dangerous back then too. There are other ways of separating player from puck that don't hold the same injury risk

Love me a good hip check ,but that was Marchment low , and there was no way Seguin could have prepared himself for that hit.
Those kind of hits end careers.

I say 3 games, 5 if Seguin is out long term , and I still don't agree with the NHL basing suspensions on injury length.

Kind of a Marchment style take out the legs while he's not looking hit. I don't think there was intent to injure but you have to change the mindset of players that hits like this are dangerous and can ruin careers so I'm hoping he gets 3-5 games for it.

Watching the nhl clip above (thanks united) I think he comes in a bit too low. Just bends a bit low and hits in the thigh knee area. Deserves suspension, though would love to see more of the good old fashioned Tim Horton style hip checks thrown. They are exciting plays.

That looked like a low hit to me. Wouldn't be surprised with a suspension.
