Default Gio and Gaudreau - Behind the Scenes at the All-Star Weekend

Didn't see it elsewhere, pretty cool actually. They both had their own crew, VIP treatment. Couldn't figure out how to embed.

Anyone else see Kypreos awkwardly try to hug Gio in part 1?

Great find, thanks for posting. I know most people think the all-star game is a joke and useless. But to me not only is it great for the kids to get a chance to see the leagues best players, but you get to see more of their personalities. These guys are ambassadors for the game and any chance you get to showcase their personalities and show their human side is worthwhile to me. The all-star weekend is much more then just the game or skills competition. It shows the human side of the players.

Also great to see not only how humble Johnny is, but how respected Gio is around the league.

I love how all the other players were ribbing them about Calgary getting their own camera and the VIP treatment! Haha!

Couple of things I enjoyed watching in all these:

The camaraderie between all the players, from Getzlaf seeing Gio and shaking his hand, despite the animosity on the ice, they're all professionals.

Toews and Big buff sitting together on the bus.. old teammates.

Johnny's humility

Gio's class, with the players, fans, media, a real ambassador to the game and to our city. Showing the kid how it's done in the big show.. You can learn so much from spending a weekend watching the Captain schmooze like a pro.

"Hey Gio, your shoe's untied" it's those little things that make it seem like they're a team on and off the ice.

Great vids!

Anyone else think Johnny's dad could pass for Ron Jeremy?

Was just about to say the same thing. I think he can pass for the hedgehog himself.

J.Hockey on how to pronounce his name and hearing it as the French would pronounce it "Gaudreau. Yeah. But uhh my dad ... says it ahh ...same as you said... that.... I don't know how to say that."
That made me lol.

Awesome. Gio is a great dude, hope he retires here. Gio seemed a bit overwhelmed.

I like that they introduce themselves to everyone, don't just assume that people know who they are (eventhough they do).

Pieces like this just show how solid Gio is and why he's such a good fit to be a captain for a young team. What a class act.

That was good. Also enjoyed Getz saying their on-ice issues are behind them then completely butchers Gio's name, and Gio following with the "we have the same haircut" comment was pretty great too. Hard to say if the name was intentional (imo it was), both of our representatives names get mangled regularly.

Man, Gaudreau looks like he's ready to vomit from nervousness at parts. I'm sure it was a great learning experience for him.
