CP Stock Simulator Game Thread

So, we're starting a stock simulator game on Investopedia. If you're interested let me know and I'll add you to the list. Basic idea is to give everyone a million dollars or so, and let them invest as they see fit. Game will run for a year unless people prefer a different timeline.

Some of the other game options and what we'll use are as follows. If you want something changed bring it up.

End Date - One Year From End Date (We can go forever if we want)
Allow Late Entry (If 'No' is selected new members cannot join after the start date selected) No.

Minimum Price Short - $5.00
Minimum Stock for Margin - $5.00
Commission - Market - $19.99
Commission - Limit - $29.99
Commission - Option - $19.99
Commission - Per Contract - $1.75
Diversification - 50%
Diversification Option - 10%
Margin Interest - 8%
Cash Interest - 1%

I'll give it a few more days so more people have a chance to see my post before I go ahead and set up the game. I think it could be a great learning experience for everyone. I've only recently gotten interested in stocks, and being able to do something like this with a community of people I know and have a place to discuss it would be a great learning curve for me.

I'm open to any suggestions, really. More money, less money. Just let me know.

Late entries are allowed and most of the options were disabled so there is no minimum or maximum for a trade.

Count me in. Expect big losses from me but I've always wanted to learn more about stocks. Enjoyed it when we did this in school back in junior high

I'd like to play, as long as it doesn't matter that the extent of my knowledge about stocks and trading is what I've gleaned from TV and movies. I'd like to learn, basically.

Personally I wouldn't ever end the game. If you don't want to keep playing its no big deal. If there is no interest I'll just shut the game down.

I'd like to join you guys. My personal portfolio has been doing well so it'll be interesting to see how I stack up to the group.

Only thing I'd change is the amount. A couple guys here may have over a $1MM of net worth, let alone to invest. I'd think most of us have portfolio's in the $10K - $500K.

Maybe pull it back to something a little more "real life" like say $250K.

Just a thought, I don't care too much either way. Like I said in the other thread I'm going to put down what I'm actually invested in anyways plus a few fliers.
