Sweet, incoming trade?
Also, I though Reese was on set?

Smid being injured and not being able to play is a positive, Wotherspoon being recalled is even better!

I am kinda shocked to be honest, I thought the Flames would bring up Potter instead and let Wotherspoon continue to develop.
But if the Flames think he has earned a shot and is ready.. I am excited to see him.

Great! Excited to see what Wotherspoon is all about. Any assessment from fans that watch the baby Flames? Drury18?

Probably realized the need for a strong puck mover on the 3rd pairing.

good for Wotherspoon, he deserves it
and obviously, this demonstrates a desire to keep Ortio around for at least one more game (impossible to see past the ASB at this point)

Agreed, I am really interested to see if he plays. They brought Potter up and he saw no action as Diaz played in those games.
Really curious to see how much he has improved from last year. He looked good last year but had a some things to work on as expected for his age.

Nice, I'm looking forward to seeing Wotherspoon.
The three headed goalie-monster I'm not thrilled about.

Smid looked a little rough after blocking a shot last night, but I didn't think it was serious at the time.
Legitimately surprised at Wotherspoon's recall, I thought he would be in Addy all season.

I feel the Flames need an upgrade on the third pair and Wotherspoon may provide it. Worth seeing how it goes for sure and I'm a big fan of his.

Wotherspoon is a very positionally sound, defensive defenseman. He knows that his first priority is his own end. He is not particularly physical, but he has good size and is good at getting body position.
They have been working hard with him on his offensive game. While his first pass is good, he isn't an offensive defenseman by any stretch.
His shot is improving, and his comfort level walking the line is improving, but isn't a strength.
edit (some more comments): he won't wow you, and you can go long stretches without noticing him. But the more you watch, the more you like and the more you notice all the subtle little things that he does well. He is a 'smart' defenseman. I think in a couple years he is going to be a great 3/4 guy
