2015 NFL Playoff thread
So playoffs get going later today.
Arizona 11-5 at Carolina 7-8-1.
Arizona has lost 4 of their last 6, while Carolina won their last 4 to get in. Arizona is down to their third string QB, which really hampered them at the end of the season. Carolina figured out how to play defence in the last quarter of the season. Tough luck for Arizona, they deserve better, but I predict they lose to the sub 500 Panthers. Carolina 20 Arizona 13.
Baltimore 10-6 at Pittsburgh 11-5
A AFC North rubbermatch that features QB's not named Manning, Brady, or Rodgers who have won Superbowls. Le'Veon Bell is a huge injury here as it likely makes the Steelers pretty one dimensional. Baltimore struggled to get into the playoffs though. I think Ben is able to find Antonio Brown enough to pull off the win. Steelers 27 Ravens 24
Cincinatti 10-5-1 at Indianapolis 11-5
Andy Daulton has taken the Bengals to the playoffs for 4 consecutive seasons. Looks like it could be 4 straight losses as AJ Green is unlikely to go. Without him the Bengal rushing attack will not be able to overcome Andrew Luck. Colts are Luck, TY Hilton, a couple decent TE's good kicking game....and a pretty mediocre group. But thats enough this week. Colts 21 Bengals 13
Detroit 11-5 at Dallas 12-4
Dallas back in the playoffs after going 8-0 on the road. Problem is that this game is at home and the league overturned Suhs suspension. Detroits offence has seemed stuck in low gear all season, while the defence carried them. Can they put together a complete game to take out a pretty solid Cowboys team?
I say yes they do. Two words...playoff Romo. Detroit 20 Dallas 17.

Just don't see how Arizona puts up points..their defense is quite good outside of the 2 Seattle games, but outside of 4-5 turnovers from Carolina and ARI points off turnovers, who is pretty hot right now at the most crucial of times, don't see ARI moving the ball enough. Newton runs hot and then ice cold when things turn on him even the slightest, but still see a 17-9 CAR win.
Ravens at Steelers - The Bell injury should hurt Pitt, but Baltimore is the shell of a team they were. Close game though, home field (turf i guess is crap) advantage helps in a 24-20 Pitt win.
Cincy and Indy - Unless Luck stinks it up and there are a lot of turnovers from him like Manning did a few weeks ago, don't see where Cincy has a chance. Dalton seizes up come playoff time too. 27-17 Indy.
Detroit at Dallas - Dallas should have enough now on defence to give a guy like Romo confidence that he doesn't have to do it all. May be closer though into the 4th than most are predicting, due to one half of the Dallas team not clicking as expected. Lions have nothing to lose, and all the pressure on Dallas to get to Green Bay, and really, beyond. 31-21 Dallas though.
Dallas/Det would be the prime game for what would be considered an upset, and the fallout from J. Jones and others on that team would be swift. Only shocker for me this weekend was if Indy loses.

Baltimore (+3) over Pittsburgh
Carolina (-6.5) over Arizona
Detroit (+6.5) over Dallas (only on points, Dallas still wins)
Indy (-3.5) over Cincinnati
Ravens and Colts seem like easy picks. Stafford has never beaten a good team on the road so the Cowboys dream season will probably last one more week but that's a lot of points and you have to think the game will be close. Also because Cowboys. Finally it seems dangerous but Lindley won't put up double digits so Newton won't have to do much to cover the spread and the Panthers are actually kind of hot right now.

AZ/Car was my hardest pick, went back & forth on it a few times. The other 3 I feel fairly confident in

So why Cincy without AJ Green? Ewing theory at play here, I think they run the ball more which takes it out of Dalton's hands (which means fewer turnovers), and they bleed the clock to a win. Dallas wins because it'll be a lot more fun seeing them lose 59-20 to Green Bay next week.

Every Colts fan knows this team just isn't very good, and expects them to be one and done. Jeremy Hill+Gio Bernard will go for 200 yards against the Colts horrid rush D

I see Pittsburgh being the toughest challenger to New England in the AFC this year

Yeah, Pittsburgh is the team who may be able to shock New England or Denver. But they will be challenged this week.

Newton never looks like he is stepping into his throws. Lindley needs to put something together

Going to be a long game if Lindley can't string off more 1st downs and get down the field.
EDIT: And a muffed punt. Lol.

Arians has done a great job this year, but this game plan is atrocious. Carolina has a bad secondary and you have Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd. Throw the ball down the field and take your chances with Lindley, running isn't going to work.

Fitzgerald should be targeted 15+ times today, rely on the vet

No kidding. Look at what happened when Lindley threw to Fitz, Fitz finds a way.
I did like it when Lindley threw those long passes every now and then, it's how Floyd had a fantastic game last game.
I still have a bad feeling about this game because I feel the Cardinals would be killing you guys if Palmer was here. Hell, even Stanton would have been a better option than Lindley.

7-10, lets have a better quarter guys. Was basically a free TD for us from the muffed punt.

Olsen is a stud. I think he is the second best TE in the league.

Well at least this game is living up to it's reputation as probably the worst playoff game ever. Whole game is basically down to the Cards punter.

Cam is like Jay Cutler but can run better. And he's about to be horribly overpaid too.
