Button: top 50 NHL prospects
http://www.tsn.ca/tsn-hockey-s-top-3...pects-1.183391
Quote:
Max Domi did more than earn top forward honours at the World Junior Hockey Championship, he earned the No. 1 ranking on TSN Hockey's list of the top NHL-affiliated prospects.
The Arizona Coyotes' 12th overall pick in 2013 heads a list of the best prospects in the world whose rights are owned by NHL teams. Domi is a highly-skilled player with a burning competitive fire to match. The London Knights' superstar was a huge factor in ending Canada's five-year gold drought.
Two Sams – Reinhart and Bennett - round out the top three NHL-affiliated prospects. Buffalo's Reinhart was also instrumental in Canada's championship after playing 9 games in the NHL prior to being returned to Kootenay of the WHL. His brilliance may be subtle but it is valuable to winning. Calgary's Bennett had shoulder surgery after an injury in Calgary training camp but watching him during a brief NHL pre-season appearance leaves no doubt about his enormous potential.

72 points in 37 games with London. Might be a steal for the Coyotes in the 2nd round.

Looking at that list, was struck by how much Mantha dropped off.. Wasn't he the second coming last year? now 0.5 PPG AHL.. Even Baertschi is quite a bit better than that.

Broken leg in training Camp no? Hasn't played in a long time or just got back to playing very recently.

Domi? Huh?
He had a very good WJC, but let's not get carried away. I'd take Reinhart over him 10 times out of 10, and it's not even close.

Yeah he's had a nice run of late. Shame the Oilers will destroy his career.

This is what annoys me about the WJC. It's like everyone forgets the overall body of work of these kids for a two week tournament where teams are whipped together and spit out.

Domi, like Eberle before him, is still riding the world juniors hype train.
I'd take Bennett 10/10 over Domi.

Sure, but he has the 3rd highest points-per-game average on the team. I don't think he's the "straw that stirs the drink" on the London offense. He doesn't have that point total if he's playing on a different team that doesnt have 2 2+ ppg forwards ahead of him.
Also of note: Pronman has Fiala at #6 and Button doesnt have him in the top 20. Pronman gets too much of a boner for small Euros that do well over seas without playing the NA game yet.

I agree more with Button's list than Pronman's, but yeah... Domi at #1 gets off to a pretty brutal start.
And Button seems to love all things London Knights.

You make it seem like Eberle is a bust. He had a 76 point season.

Probably not, but he's good enough to boost his totals and theirs too. He'll make for a nice addition to a stud line. Still a good steal in the 2nd round.

As a Knights season ticket holder I can easily say Domi is not a better prospect than Bennett. No way.
