Calgary Highlanders awarded Canadian Force's Unit Commendation

Not too many units have received this award.

Due to the fact that some members volunteered multiple times, The Calgary Highlanders deployed 126 soldiers from a unit of 111 personnel between 2001 and 2011. This contribution to the Afghanistan mission equals a 107% deployment rate for the unit, significantly more than any other Reserve unit in the Canadian Army.
Since the beginning of the mission,

The regiment has a history of providing soldiers to augment missions.

During the 90's the sent a large number of soldiers Yugo.
