Default Elderly Homecare - Suggestions?

My elderly folks are need of some in-home assistance as my dad recovers from a bout of pneumonia. Someone every other day to check him medically, and assist my mother as needed with household tasks (not cleaning, maybe some nutrition). They're out in the Ranchlands area. I'm thinking some sort of eldercare company is probably my best bet for this hopefully temporary issue.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Qualicare comes up on my search but I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Oh and if anyone has any suggestions for snow removal that does work in the NW I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Have you checked with alberta health services to see if they have anything?

Call AHS Community Care. They were very helpful when my MIL needed some help.

If they have been on their own to date, there will be no file for them regarding their present health and care they might require.

You need to get them into the AHS system. They will send someone out to document the needs of your parents and then go from there.

You will probably have to pay for any housecare needs and if you don't know where to start, they can give recommendations for that...but they will set up homecare needs as assessed by them.

Even if your parents won't require help on a permanent basis, it is important that a file exists for them within the AHS system. Then if a need presents itself in the future, you won't have to start from scratch again.
