Default Notes from Jan 8 Practice - Bollig next potential scratch. Hudler returns.

So Granlund is back and on the ice already. Ortio is not in Calgary yet, so former Flames 1st round pick Brett Krahn is the temporary backup for practice with Ramo out.

Bollig likely to be scratched against Florida:

Granlund is on the ice. Ortio is not. Bollig wearing the green "scratched" sweater.
Hudler has returned after missing the game last night due to the birth of his first baby

Hudler back on the ice this morning ...
projected lines:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Glencross-Backlund-Colborne
Raymond-Granlund-Byron
Bouma-Stajan-Jones

Giordano-Brodie
Russell-Wideman
Diaz-Engelland
Smid

I would love it if we could ice a fourth line without Bollig on it and roll 4 legit lines. Basically two "second" lines and two "third" lines.

Not bad but I'd prefer this.

Excellent! Haha. We can roll these lines, I'd give top two 30% each and bottom two 20% each. Though not sure about that third line, they are going to get bumped around. Also Backlund/Raymond looked good together last night.

I didnt mind the Bollig pickup. But man have I ever changed my opinion.

Scratch please, call up anyone who can skate, throw a hit and play with at least some intensity.

Monahan in the scoring role, Backlund in the shutdown role. I like.

Raymond looked good...until he scored. After that he was a hot mess. He has to do better if he wants to look good with anybody.

I like that lineup. That's a solid fourth line. No need to insert Bollig.

I'm really liking the center depth for a change. It's gonna be insane next year with Bennett.

Exactly what you want to see from a rebuilding team.

Loving the line-up, only tweaking would be Backlund/Monahan.

Why? I really want to see Monahan get an extended look with Gaudreau on his wing.

I like Monahan with Gaudreau and Backlund with Glencross and Colborne if only because I think Backlund's line will get the tough minutes against the other team's top line. I don't think Gaudreau is ready for that and it finally gives Mono a break - he's been handling the tough minutes in Backs' absence. I don't think you can go wrong with either centre though. Both are good two way players.

Ortio in Vancouver would be interesting. We always lose there nowadays anyway and he might pull a Berra.

Glad to see Monahan centring gaudreau and hudler. Eventually, I think it would be awesome to have Bennett centering that line and have baertschi on Monahan's wing.

yeah, I thought that was funny.

Clearly they were given instructions to put a Calgary focus on the panel, and they each spent 2 minutes thinking about how they could tie Calgary into the existing rumours.

We were going to get Chris Stewart as well.

And Healy talked about always earned, never given.

I literally laughed out loud at this.

Good start for them, but they need to spend more time on CP before the panel next time.
