2015 World Junior Team projection
Every year Canada's WJC roster either fills fans of a NHL organization with can't miss hope or fills the hearts of other team's fans with jealousy and dred and likely this year is no different.
I know I had mixed emotions about Darnell Nurse last night!
However when you look back the can't miss guys miss, some make it, and others that were depth players go on to have great NHL careers.
Who on this team becomes an impact player in the NHL? #1 goaltender, top six forward or top 4 dmen?
Don't even get me started on Tkaczuk and Fata (Winnipeg '99)

McDavid shouldn't be on the list, he'll be the oilers second line centre next year and I can't see them letting him go because they have no depth at centre.
Too soon?

I didn't pick either of the goalies because I'm not sure they'll make it and specifically in the case of Fucale, being stuck behind Price is probably waiting for a trade before he can ever get a shot.

I picked three guys. McDavid, Fabbri and Morrissey. McDavid is a given, I was really impressed with Fabbri before he went down and i thought Morrissey was one of their steadiest defencemen. I found myself watching a great play by a defenceman and wondering who it was and it was Morrissey most times.

There's something about Duclair that makes me think he'll do quite well. Didn't rack up a ton of points, but he made so many great chances happen in the offensive zone and was always driving to the net. Seems like he always gave Gord Miller a reason to raise his voice when calling his name while he was on the ice

McDavid and Reinhart for sure. Possibly Morrisey, Nurse, Duclair, Fabbri and Lazar as well (In terms of possible 1st line potential).

Other than Reinhart and Nurse, the player that stood out the most for me was Duclair. Smart player, plays with passion, uses his size well. I think he is going to be great.

Fabbri is gonna be a fantastic player. He almost made the St. Louis Blues as an 18 year old. It's not like that team is lacking depth or anything either.

Goaltenders are decent, but not assuredly #1s, so can't vote either, but as the saying goes, "goalies are voodoo".
The defense really impressed me in this tournament, but I didn't like Bowey as much as others and I think Theodore and Morin are going to be really solid top 4 defensemen: Nurse, Morrissey, Morin, Theodore.
There are two stud centers and then a bunch of guys that have some tools to be quality NHLers, but not many will be top 6 players: Reinhart (duh), McDavid (double duh), Duclair, Petan. I like Lazar, but he will likely be bottom 6 in NHL. Virtanen's overall game is lacking, and Ritchie flat out can't skate. People like Domi, but I think he's going to have trouble playing that way in the NHL and having success. We shall see.
Edit: Forgot about Fabbri, but I haven't seen enough to say he'll be a top 6 player.

I thought so too until I looked it up and he's only 5'11, 185lbs. He plays a much bigger game than his frame

The one thing that concerns me about projecting Petan, is that he is likely too small to be an NHL center and looks uncomfortable playing wing.

I say Reinhart, Nurse and McDavid. Nurse showed me a lot, and I think he just needs some more pounds. McDavid: duh. Reinhart I liked, but I am a tiny bit unsure of his long term impact.

Off topic but I hate that these two are always blended together.
Fata was just a bust who had no hockey sense.
Tkaczuk would have been a good player, if he didn't get his bell rung so bad that it ruined him as a hockey player.

I want to say Domi won't be an impact player despite his fantastic tournament, but I'm not sure if that's a legitimate critique or more of a bias because of his name and the type of player his dad was
