I'm really happy with what we're seeing out of Buffalo. They won't be any easy out for the Oilers. This team really wants McEichel.

The Wild lead 2-0 in the first period. Pomminville and Zucker have two points each.

Really good interview from Luongo on TSN.

Pretty frank and honest answers (or so it seems)

The Lightning's second line might be the best line in the league. Tyler Johnson, Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat are ridiculous right now. Two guys over 40 points, one with 32 in 38 games and they're all under 25. And one 2nd rounder, a 7th rounder and one undrafted. Yzerman is a genius.

and according to Elliot Friedman's 30 points this week, they all had to earn their spots. They wanted more ice but it wasn't handed to them, much the way they treat Drouin.

Basically the anti-Oiler strategy

The NBCSN telecast has a TSN feel from five years ago as Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire are calling the Sharks-Wild game. It is now 2-1 Wild with Karlsson scoring.

I see Scrivens got the night off. His punishment for recent good play. Fines for goals, assists and saves will be doled in coming months.

Gotta admit I was wrong on this one. I thought he was being hugely overrated by all the pundits and message board people alike early on. But he definitely seems to be the real deal. Tampa was smart to get him when they did. I'll never fully forgive Tampa for '04, but I'm glad Yzerman landed there instead of somewhere like Toronto, Vancouver or Edmonton. Also glad he is in the East.

I'm trying to hope for edmonton in this game, so they could somehow get out of the bottom two...

But I can't. I hope Detroit scores 10.

It's just embarrassing watching how the East is played. No defence, dives abound. And to watch Montreal get homered by the refs is just too much.

They keep playing the Flames' goal song at Rexall. They must have really fell in love with it after Christmas.

"Great defensive play turned in by Jeff Schultz."

The first time in two and a half seasons that it happens, and Kevin Quinn doesn't even get his name right.
