Flames Prospects!
The only player the Flames have the rights to at this tournament is:
*** Russia Defenceman #7 Rushan Rafikov (7th round pick 2013) ***
Rafikov is tied for 4th in defenceman scoring behind CAN Madison Bowey, SWE Gustav Forsling and USA Anthony DeAngelo

Playoff Bracket

Leading Scorers

Sweden vs Russia - 2 pm MT
The ever dangerous Swedes and their special teams. Sweden's PP is at 50% and their PK is at 100%. 50% of Sweden's 24 goals scored so far in this tournament are PP goals.

Russia is the most penalized team in the tournament, giving up 15pims/game. Most likely it will come to international reffing and discipline that will decide if the Russians' are playing for Gold or Bronze.

Canada vs Slovakia - 6pm MT
Lets be honest, this isn't the same Slovakian team that Canada beat down 8-0 on the tournament's opening day. They have grown in confidence since then and beat Finland, kept the US to a respectable score and eliminated the Czechs in a shutout.

That being said, unless the Slovak goaltender Godla steals the game, the Canadians should have a berth in the gold medal final. Realistically the Canadians will have to be their own worst enemies with turnovers and defensive miscues to give Slovakia a chance to win this game.

Pretty physical game thus far. Should be very good hockey the rest of the way in this one.

No intent as he didn't shove him hard, but what a dumb, dumb play. Literally uses his forearm to push his lower back launching him straight into the back

Looks like Lagesson is alright. Was hoping for a 5 minute PP to close the game out early though.

Pulling for Russia only because of the Flames connection where there is no Flames connection for SWE.

Rafikov with a sweet little poke check there amongst the clutter to keep the puck in the SWE zone.

Russia's matching up against SWE very nicely right now. It'll be interesting to see which team finds that next gear.

Sweden is just awful this game. This is basically the team I was unfortunately expecting before the tournament. Then they came out and played great in the group stage. Wonder if they can find their legs in the third, because this hasn't even been a game so far

The WJ music (not the TSN stuff) that they play prior to puck drop is so bad.
