LOL, could have had him on waivers and they trade Arcobello for him? Can't make this stuff up folks.

Wow...Roy's value really is next to nothing, aka Arcobello. Who just caught a huge break.

The Oilers could have had Derek Roy more than once this season. Not the player he once was. Not an upgrade on what they have

Um so they get a guy that was getting waived and trade the great Arcobello for him.

A move that reeks of desperation and panic.

Roy is supposedly a flaming butthead that even Nashville didn't want.

This is Mac-T smashing his hands into a keyboard randomly while screeching "I'm helping"

Man the Oilers are puny and soft up the middle.

James Mirtle @mirtle
Sounds like Nashville may have retained salary in this deal. Would be one way it made sense for Oilers to go this route.

I wonder if this had something to do with how many open contract spots they had open or wanted to keep open.

Wasn't Roy free?

They traded a young Centre for an old Centre that no one wanted?

They need more centres not this. What the hell is MacT doing? Someone stop this madress.

Not sure what their contract numbers are but i suspect that its why they traded instead of claiming...no different than when the Flames traded for Huselius right after he had been on waivers in Florida.

Well there you go, they did want him, but wanted to move a body for him. Do they really need the cap room? Something else happening there? I understood why they didn't grab him, I don't understand why they'd trade a player for him.

I always say you have to evaluate moves as a collective when it comes to the Flames, not in isolation, so I guess I have to apply this to the Oil. Let's see what else MacT does and see if it makes sense once we see the big picture.....................

I agree he is not the player he once was, but disagree that it's not an upgrade for oilers at the center position.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
EDM would make the trade instead of waivers to keep them away from 50 contracts.

Its not, Roy has been disposable hot garbage for a while now.

Add another defensively stunted midget with a bad attitude to a team full of them.

Well to be fair, Arcobello does have more points than Roy. Tank is still on.
