I'm not one to be easily shocked, but as far as I can tell in this game you play a mass murderer gunning down innocent people. With so many multiple mass shootings in recent memory, I have no idea WTF the developers are thinking
Money. While I don't like society blaming kids' actions on video games (it should be on the parents to watch over these kids), a game like this is simply not acceptable. I don't think it would be a far cry to think this type of game brings out the nutty side of those emo kids out there. It really shouldn't be allowed to be sold if it involves going on a crazy rampage hurting innocent people. If the trailer is real, it's pretty gruesome.
I think honestly its pretty disgusting, but people will buy it.
I don't think that it should really be allowed to be sold in video game stores, it seems to be the worst of the murder porn generation.
I doubt it gets any kind of general distribution.
Even video game wise its pretty disgusting, just because in most games you're killing caricature villians in a truly disgusting manner, the one scene with the woman begging before being shot in the mouth was gross and disgusting.

Yup, pretty offensive. I dont see this as anything close to GTA, completely different tone and objectives it seems. Sad thing is you know there are twisted people out there that would love to play it.

Quite different IMO. GTA provides an open world that you can do what you like. The point of the game isn't to murder innocents, and if anything murdering civilians is more of a pain in the ass than fun.
From the looks of the trailer these developers took the diaries of every school shooter of the past 2 decades and made a game about how awesome they are.

Lame. If this is what gets you off, you got issues. If this is the best you can do from a developers stand point, you lack talent. Generic shoot em up game masquerading as some kind of cutting edge third person shooter. Unimaginative and probabley lacking in any real cutting edge gameplay. This is the kind of shock value BS that gives the entire genre a bad name.

GTA isn't even close to the tone of this game. It's tongue-in-cheek, purposeful satire. And you aren't rewarded for killing civilians, every GTA punishes you by throwing more and more cops at you until they finally take you out. But this pile of crap looks like a god honest murder simulator (the media will love that), catering to damaged minds that actually fantasize about committing a massacre
My stance is as long as you are 18+ there is nothing in video games that we don't see in Television and film. I would not ban this, just make it AO rating and very difficult to purchase.
I have zero interest in playing this, its disgusting but I always am weary of banning or trying to force game developers into not putting out something that might shock or offend.

It is the same path though - and don't get me wrong, I loved GTA and have no interest in this game - but both are about taking on the persona of evil criminals committing crimes on a mass scale.
As Thor notes, this one is going to get an AO rating, which means it essentially won't be available in stores. But I am quite certain there will be a cry of outrage from parents who aren't paying close enough attention to their kids purchase and download habits when they discover this game.
