al-Shabaab threatens attacks on malls, including West Ed
This needs its own thread.
One of the higher profile terrorist organizations is calling for attacks on malls owned by Jews across the world, and specifically names West Edmonton Mall, the Mall of Americas, and spots in London and Paris.
Al Shabaab is a Somali based terror group, with ties to ISIS and known to have recruited Americans to their cause.

The CNN link has three or so videos which are good for background information, including the one about why they would be in Kenya, which discusses Britain's specific acknowledgement that those who fight alongside Al Shabaab in Somolia will be bringing violence to Britain.

They're called terrorists for a reason. They're just trying to incite terror in westerners. Clearly they just wiki'd largest malls by country and named those that came up.

Not sure I agree. According to this CBC article, in 2011 Al Shabaab was listed as Canada's greatest security threat. They have apparently recruited 30 Somali-Canadians to join.

It seems like they were naming malls managed by ?Westfield? (Claiming it was Jewish owned).

West Edmonton Mall and Mall of America are owned by Triple Five, which is owned by the Ghermezian family. They're Persian Jewish, originally from Iran.

There aren't that many people that actually carry concealed weapons. And only a fraction of those that do carry wouldn't panic and could actually be useful.
