Good deal for both sides. I like how non-informed fans just respond with a "yikes".

Why don't you tell us why its not a good deal? Someone like me who is unfamiliar with the player would appreciate that.

I don't see what's so bad about it. Sure he took a while to mature, as d men usually do, but he had a good first full season last year in and is off too a terrific start this year.

Suter, Brodin and Scandella is a great D core to build around. They have those three locked up long term for a combined 15.7m now.

He's still only 24 years old and plays over 20 minutes a game for the Wild. It's a good signing.

Pretty good deal. If you haven't watched him play you'd probably not appreciate him.

He has had a pretty good start to the season so far which may have helped get better value. He does also bring more to the table then just offense too.

Do you think his OT GWG last night pushed the Wild towards the signing?

Goal is a beauty.

Good signing by the Wild. He's really come into his own this season - hopefully he can keep this up over the contract.

Why do you think its a bad deal though? Seems like fair value for one of the younger up-and-coming tier defencemen.

Are you confusing him with Spurgeon?

I'm not trying to be rude, I am just wondering why you don't like the deal.

He isn't very good offensively as a rule and he isn't physical at all (not as big a deal as it once was for sure) but he is just a very very average dman at best...I don't care that he is getting 4 million per but the term seems awful to me for a guy that is no more than a #4 type on a good team...no real room to grow much more and very likely plateaued when considering how long it took him to stick to begin with.

I guess my uninformed position though would include me forgetting how valuable dmen have become mind you.
