Icon35 Isles trade Pedan to Canucks for Mallet and 3rd

Minor trade and the names might make you ask Who? but kind of surprised a 3rd was involved

Andrey Pedan was dealt to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Alexandre Mallet and a 2016 third-round pick.
Canucks must be high on Pedan, a 6'4'' 211lbs dman

Pedan stats:

I imagine the deal is more Pedan for a 3rd, with Mallet thrown in to make the number of contracts balance on each side.

Good move by the Isles. After trading all these picks for Vanek and Boychuk, it makes sense to retrieve a 3rd ... and let's face it, if you have Reinhart, Pulock, Mayfield, Czuczman, Ness, Pelech and Graham on your AHL team, a guy like Pedan is easily expendable.

51 PIMs in 6 games in the AHL.

He had some talent in the OHL... but I suspect he's more of a 6th guy if he ever makes it. If you were to compare him to Kanzig, I'd take this guy over him - he's not as good of a fighter or quite as big, but more talent.

Is Bacon Country the Canucks new scout? They traded for the defensive Datsyuk!

Mallett was taken 3 spots ahead of Severson. That's so Canucks.
