Knew about him five years ago, doesn't know who he's talking about right now.

But, Brodie might be better.

Last two games Gio had the edge. Tonight he was in beast mode.

Flames need to make the playoffs for Gio to win the Norris. Having the best defensemen in the league and average goaltending should get you to the playoffs

Brodie is amazing and is a treat to watch but Giordano is just more efficient and smarter. Comes with being the vet.

The old #€*% might not be completely crazy after all.

It's Cherry. If he's not talking about Wendel Clark or DOug Gilmour, this is as good as it gets.

No. It was made around Lance Bouma, who was the brief subject of Cherry's tribute at that moment, which followed his plug for Giordano.

Best defence pair since the days when Bobby Orr and Brad Park played on the same Bruins team

Disagree but I see where you're coming from. Even missing the playoffs by a small margin should warant a nomination at the very least. Even then, to lift your team as Captain to bubble team should be enough.

Well I guess we've answered the question about whether last year was a flash in the plan / fluke for Gio.. Maybe we've got a star for years now!

I would agree at 24 Brodie is keeping pace with every move Gio is doing at 31. Given that had Hartley actually used Tj more on the power play last year he would have acquired more points last year. It's never a bad thing to have two potential Norris candidate on your team.

If they miss by a bit I would suspect he gets a nomination. This is actually a good year to try to win one with Charra being injured. The Norris is given out on reputation a lot so having one of the big guns out improves his odds significantly.
Two of the nominees are doughty, Subban almost regardless of how they actually preform leaving one spot to go after.

Standard nominees:
Keith
Chara
Doughty
Subban
Weber
Suter
that's a tough list to crack. He needs some additional big games on high profile TV spots - so big games against the Rangers, Islanders, Flyers and Bruins while out east.
