I watched this yesterday, what an idiot. Sure they weren't the "first" teams per-se, but they were the original six before expansion took place in 1967, which is what I always interpreted it as. They've all been in existence for 80+ years now, and were the only teams in the league for a good 40 years; if that's not what it takes to be considered an "original" team then I don't know what is. The other teams were all just prototypes that failed for one reason or another.
