Who cares, as long as that dirty rotten coo unt is gone, I have never disliked any politician less than him. That money blowing fellow clarkson was the epitome of what a politicain should not be

The trend of female minorities? It's the 3rd woman in history. Not sure about he minority part but I have a sneaking suspicion that the trend leans far closer to "white English man" than it does to "female minority".
Does it matter? Just by your caption I get the impression that it does. Maybe it's just an observation.

Just an observation since it's starting to look like a trend with 2 in a row, maybe just mere coincidence?

I just don't get the media-types getting into this position. I find it disturbing because doing a job that is for entertainment perposes is not a good representative for the Queen. It seems to me that they are just trying to put weak people into power so they don't question any law that comes across the desk of the GG.

(1) Media wasn't originally meant for entertainment, but rather to inform and educate. I think Jean's work does all of those things. I particularly enjoyed watching "Last Call for Cuba".
(2) I don't know her, but from her work I think she is a very intelligent woman and there is no way that I would consider her "weak"!!!!
(3) When was the last time the GG office questioned a law?!?! It's a figurehead position. As one who abhors our allegence to the monarchy, I think the position should be abolished. Along with the Senate. But that's another matter entirely. But we could save a lot of money by getting rid of that post. But we'll save a lot of money simply by getting rid of Clarkson, so that's a plus.

I very much agree that the GG position should be abolished and we need senate reform to gain a second sober thought our current system sorely lacks.

If we abolish both the GG (who is just a figurehead, I know,) and the Senate, (who are also just figureheads, I know,) we leave ourselves in a position with no checks and balances... we need more, not less.

The Governor General is not a check or balance. It a worthless ceremonial position that only costs money and needs to be abolished.
The Senate as presently composed is about as useful as if it didnt exist.
The Senate needs to be reformed. The GG needs to just disapear.

Fantastic that we get a hot Governor-General. She'll make us look good overseas.
Next I hope it's Mitsou!

We have no checks and balances anyways, and when in the heck did the governer general's office become a golden handshake retirement post for the CBC. There has to be a better representative in Canada that will actually restore dignity to the GC position then this person.
What a joke.
She's a news person on the government dole, has she acutally ever done anything to earn this.
Hell bring Lewis Mackenzie back and give him this post, at least he's done something.

Seems like? How does she seem like? She is a CBC elitist socialist hack. Ya figure she would be good at hobknobbing/ golfing with terrorists and their backers? She would be really "in" with (communist) dictators whiel moaning on and on about how the West is the biggest abuser of human rights?
I have a sneaking suspicion that this GG has never been west of the Toronto-Montreal corridor.

So by her being an artist and leftist she automatically supports terrorism. Aren't you the one that's always whining about Conservatives being labled racist white supremacist supporters?

I certainly wouldn't mind Shania taking million-dollar tours around the world in a ladies-cut Flames jersey. that's gotta be a big improvement over Clarkson taking million-dollar tours around the world with her entourage

Whoa, I got as much beef with the CBC, the Fiberals, and other misc. socialists and commie hacks as the next Albertan right-wing voter, but I gotta say that's a tad overkill and a bit of a strectch
