Hamhuis heads home
Mere minutes after seeking a trade, Dion Phaneuf was sent to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Dan Hamhuis. This was a very fast deal, and came together in about 10 minutes. Dan Hamhuis heads to Nashville where his NHL career began.
Rumours swirled about why Dion was shipped. Maybe his musical preferences in the locker room were not enjoyed by all. A popular rumour was that his wife had taken a liking to the suave and debonair GM. "We simply needed to have a more defensive presence on the blue line" said GM Slava, not taking the bait.
