Default GAME 18 : STAMPEDERS vs BC Lions

Last game in the regular season. This is a nothing game for the Calgary Stampeders but for BC Lions, it's either they will play their playoff game in Edmonton or somewhere in the East (crossover). BC needs to win this game or even if they lose this game, they hope Saskatchewan loses tomorrow. So, a BC win or Sask lose they play against the Eskies. A BC lost and Sask win, they'll either play in Hamilton or in Toronto. I guess BC's chances of winning a playoff game is to play the Eastern team as a crossover. Lions have been inconsistent in their last 4 games going for 2 wins and 2 loses. They won against Winnipeg and Ottawa and lost to Hamilton and Edmonton. Lions will be without QB Travis Lulay, WR Courtney Taylor, RB Andrew Harris, LB Adam Bighill and Khareem Smith. DT Khalif Mitchell will be back in the lineup. BC will play both Kevin Glenn and John Beck tonight.

GAME TIME : Friday, November 7th at 8:00pm BC Place
Televised : TSN, ESPN3

Stampeders need to rebound from an awful game last week vs Blue Bombers and I am sure they will play 4 times better than last week where they had 6 turnovers including 5 fumbles.

OFFENSE :

QB Drew Tate will start tonight's game but expect to see Bo Levi Mitchell to play some minutes as well later on. RB Martel Mallett will be back in the lineup after coming off an injured list. I believed last time Mallett played this season was against the Lions. RB Jon Cornish left the game early last week but still collected 105 rushing yards to surpassed the 1,000 yards mark. Cornish is still the leading CFL rusher even though he only played 1/2 a season with 1,082 yards, 230 yards ahead of Eskies RB John White. Cornish will miss the game tonight. RB Matt Walter hit the 100 yard rushing last week will be starting in place of JC again tonight.
SB Marquay McDaniel will be back tonight after coming off the 6 games injured list. He will replace SB Nik Lewis in the lineup. Lewis is nursing a minor injury so there is no point in even playing tonight. WR Maurice Price(concussion), WR/Returner Sederrick Cunningham will also miss the game tonight due to sprained ankle.

DEFENSE :

Stamps will pretty much play the same defensive lineup from the last few games. DE Charleston Hughes will sit out again tonight. I am pretty sure DE Shawn Lemon, Stamps nominee for Defensive Player, will start the game but might start resting in the 2nd half. Last time this team played against each other, MLB Juwan Simpson had a huge game stopping Andrew Harris. Simpson collected 13 tackles against BC in 2 games this season. OLB Deron Mayo also had a good season playing against BC with 15 tackles, 1 special team tackles and 2 pass knockdown in 2 games.

SPECIAL TEAM :

Sederrick Cunningham will miss the game so Jock Sanders will return most of the punts. Stamps ST coverage teams have been playing well in the last few games and I am sure they want to continue their good plays leading to the playoff.

^^ Agreed. I don't care what the score is -- by the second quarter I hope we start seeing Calgary empty the bench. All key starters out after halftime.

Id really love to see Lewis get a TD tonight.

Edit - Just saw that he's not dressed tonight.

Both offense are moving the ball well. Kevin Glenn not getting a lot of pressures tonight that's why he's throwing well. Whenever Stamps goes after him, he is not good. Good too see McDaniel and Campeau back.

Eric Rogers with his first CFL TD catch. Nice throw by Drew Tate.

So important to have McDaniel back. Price has big play potential but you need receivers like Marquay to consistently move the ball

Cordarro who? Shawn Lemon is a beast this season. He actually started well last season then Law took his spot pretty much last season. Lemon was even a healthy scratches in some game. This season he didn't let anyone take his spot.

Jock Sanders is out with ankle injury.

Kevin Glenn says "Hey Drew if you can throw an interception, I can do better." Fred Bennett intercepted Glenn's pass.

Benevides is not a smart man. I've seen him challenged PI call that was in a no-win situations.

That was a bad play by Moniz. He was so undecided. I am glad he scored on his second chance.
