I am not sure about all claims on Homeopathic Medicine but I have used Arnica tissue salts on a fresh contusion 5 cm in diameter and it was gone the next day. Anyone else lose a bruise that fast without the use of leeches?
Too bad the homeopathic industry can't afford to fund the media and run these smear campaigns against the competition, but this is obviously very one sided.
And I'm sure they picked the quackiest lady they could find to use as an example.
The truth is both pharmaceutical and homeopathic types of medicine have their flaws, but both these industries are motivated by one thing. Profit.
I don't use homeopathic medicine aside from a few supplements (if that counts), but at the same time I do not support shutting the alternate medicine industry down because that would limit peoples freedom of choice.

lol, no one is talking about shutting anything down, specifically just talking about the nonsense that is homeopathy and the fact there is ZERO evidence that it does anything.
BTW shocking new, the companies which produce homeopathic medicine make money, so obviously you can't trust their claims.

I don't support shutting down alternative medicine operations but I want them to go through the same hoops that pharmaceuticals do. I want them to prove that their medicines do what they claim. I want them to prove that they aren't harmful in the short or long term. I want them to be subject to the same backlash that pharma is if a therapy goes sour.
Diluting an "active ingredient" below the detection level of our modern instruments is ridiculous. One of the first things you learn in pharmacology is that concentration is key and these mega dilutions are nonsensical.

Right?
Like I said, both businesses are based on profit, so you're going to see deception on both sides, but it is obvious the advantage big pharma has with all their advertising dollars they are going to be generally cast in a good light.
A few years back my sister worked with customers at a place down here called True Hope. I don't know a whole lot about the place but they sold non-pharmaceutical medicine to people and alot of them were extremely grateful. She said many of them were sensitive, or didn't react well to certain prescription medicines and needed alternatives. I don't know if they got into some legal trouble with a custromer or not, but Health Canada raided their office in the middle of the night with armed men and shut them down. I kind of thought that to be extreme.
I am not saying the pharmaceutical industry is all behind this but there is an effort by big business and government (in America for sure) to consolidate everything we consume, from medicine, food, entertainment under corporate control, a kind of monopoly if you will.

I agree with the majority of your post, but I personally believe that the pharmaceutical industry, with all their influence don't have to jump through all the hoops you think they do. Big business pretty much owns the FDA in my opinion....
homeopathic medicine doesn't do anything good or bad. The "pharmaceutical" industry doesn't fight homeopathic medicine because they are the same thing. Sorry mikey, but there in the same boat of selling placebos. I have no problem with selling homeopathic medicine in my pharmacy. If I sell guaifenesin (expectorant in any cold products), ovol, Airborne, emergen-C, etc how can I not? I will never recommend it, and I will always advise patients on its uselessness, but alas, it's their choice to use placebos
The fact that homeopathic medicine can exist and profit in the age of knowledge we live in now, is the most shocking thing about this story. It is laughable at best. The fact the rep from the big company says "Maybe the technology doesn't exist to prove that it works." Is along the same lines of what religious zealots say about their god and his miracles, "Prove to me god doesn't exist"
If we don't have the technology to prove it works, how can you claim it does in the first place? It just shows how incredibly gullible people still are.
