Actually thought Wideman was a bit better this game. He's definitely had worse games IMO

Personally, I think Wideman the last few games has been as good as we've seen him in a long time...but expectations have been low for quite a while.

From the article:

Quote:
When is the last time the Flames have started a season alternating goaltenders that turn in solid start after solid start?
I nominate Vernon and Wamsley, '88-89. Wamsley went 17-11-4 in the regular season with two shutouts. Vernon saved all his shutouts for the playoffs.

Was unable to catch the game, but heard rumblings of Johnny having an awesome shift sometime after the goal. Giordano also mentioned it in his post game. Does anyone have footage of this? It would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't find any.

Great write-up as usual. One player I noticed there was Drouin. Honestly, thought he looked better than Johnny most shifts- was dangling and dangerous all night. When he had the puck, the rookie just went around Flames like they weren't there some shifts, and showed explosive speed. Granted, he has Stamkos on his wing, instead of Raymond.

That kid will be great- and Gaudreau will have to turn it up if he's truly going to keep up in the Calder race.

Wildly disagree with playing McGrattan over Bollig. Bollig is reasonable player. McGrattan should not be dressing unless they other team has a goon.

Drouin was ok I thought. He had a couple of decent shifts but was fairly invisible for the most part. Considering he's coming back from injury and this was a back to back, I suspect he'll get better as it goes along.
