Krys Barch on the Flames' commitment to truculence:

Bollig, Bouma, McGrattan. Good luck NHL fourth lines!!!! My advice to them is target the Stars!!!

https://twitter.com/krysbarch/status/519561275987095554

Yeesh.

Combine this sort of sentiment with Hartley's fighting practices in camp and opening line brawls, and what do you have?

Is it really Flames hockey?

And if that is your brand of hockey and you cheer on a McGrattan when he ends the career of an Andrew Alberts (and let's face it, many did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UisbX...layer_embedded), are you really entitled to outraged indigation when a Bennett or Johnny Hockey's career get's cut short by a similarly targeted injury.

What goes around invariably comes around, and I'm not sure I'm drinking this particular kool aid.

(I'd also suspect that the Sedins score in about 30 seconds if matched against Bollig, Bouma and McGrattan.)

Our team does seem to have a lot of the last gasp of a dying era to be honest.

Those guys never target the stars. Did you really imply Alberts is on the same level value wise as a JG or SB? Really?

I find it funny you a referencing our heavyweights who only go after other heavyweights going after Canucks who are known for their idiot players like Burrows and Kassian laying illegal hits on name players. Maybe you should worry it is the other way around when it comes to playing Vancouver.

Yeah, McGrattan is gonna go out of his way and target the top line players, like he always does.

how many careers have our goons ended? Was that hit even really dirty? I don't remember if he got suspended or not. It is unfortunate but what Corrado did to JG in the young stars tournament was worse in my opinion.

I don't see him jumping star players, if and when that starts to happen, he will no longer have a place with this organization or any other player for that matter. Tit for tat shouldn't be how this goes.

Well for one Bouma is heart & soul but I think he's better off leaving the gloves on, and he knows it.

Secondly why have you turned a random Twitter post from a guy like Krys Barch into a condescending lecture at Flames fans? Why should we care about this?

Ah, it was made perfectly clear by Tortorella and every Canuck fan that if the Sedins were to be matched up against McGrattan the only possible outcome would be homicide.

Perhaps I could suggest a warm bottle of milk followed up with a successful burping.

We get last line change. The chances of them being out against the Sedins is slim to none.

McGrattan didn't get suspended.

Didn't look like an intentionally dirty hit to me. Hard to tell from that video, but looks like Big Ern hit him in the shoulder and his head went into the glass as a result.

so when Joel Quenville had no problem letting Bollig kill penalties or be on the ice for any defensive zone face off, the Sedins weren't much risk, but suddenly he puts on Flames silks and he stops his quality of play?

This is tabloid level stuff BS. There are no Hartley fighting practices in camp, and that line brawl was a spontaneous event that both sides agreed to, believe it or not. The Flames did not go out there and bully the Canucks into fights. Kevin Bieksa was quoted as saying "it was just a fun shift" it's not our problem that Tortorella reacted the way he did. Maybe he should have yelled at his own players for being equal participants.

Hmmm, nice lecture.

Sounds like something that a Canucks fan would say which is funny since that franchise continues to employ morons like Kassian and Burrows and Bieksa.

You clearly know nothing about how Bouma plays the game, Bollig took a regular shift on a deep Chicago team and McGrattan really isn't known as a cheap player.

So in the words of the great and misunderstood Mat Wilson

Who? You ask

Let me help you
