2. Mike Cammalleri on playing with Jaromir Jagr: “He hasn’t asked much of me. With Jarome Iginla, we’d say, ‘If I do this, you should do this.’ (Jagr and I) are trying to develop organic chemistry, just understanding each other. The big thing I noticed…he’s so good at protecting the puck, slowing the game down, you have to be careful not to move at that speed. Then, it’s so much easier to check you. You have to be quick.”

14. Some execs were surprised at the Leddy deal from the Chicago perspective, because the Blackhawks asked for draft picks from other teams, not players. Bowman said he wanted assets that wouldn’t hurt his cap situation right now, but Pokka (acquired in the trade) makes sense because he is a talented defender and that is where the Blackhawks will have a need. (It’s believed Calgary, Colorado, San Jose and Winnipeg were among those interested in Leddy.)

I still think the Flames will be picking up a good young defenseman soon. Leddy would have been good though.

I don't know other teams' prospects well enough to opine, but can someone give a 30,000 ft comparison from a Flames perspective to what the Islanders gave up for Leddy?

no surprise there, I would have been both surprised and disappointed if they hadn't been interested in Leddy

well I don't think Calgary has a D prospect as good as Pokka right now. Wotherspoon comes closest to that, so he would have been in that deal for sure. Probably would have had to add another good prospect to get it done.

Agree that the Flames don't really have a prospect similar to Pokka. But I don't agree that they would have to add a lot to Wotherspoon. Though Wotherspoon is a different kind of defenseman, he is pretty much NHL ready and would have a similar value to Pokka IMO (though again, really hard to compare as they are different kind of players).

The other two pieces were complete garbage so it was basically Pokka for Leddy and - while highly touted - Pokka was their 3rd D prospect.
