Russell? I would rather have Backlund but I can't say much, Russell may be a pretty vocal guy

Would have like to see Backlund with an A as well but other than that I have no complaints.

I was thinking the same thing, Backlund over Russell. Did the coaches pick or did the team vote?

Russell seems like a good choice. Backlund next in line I hope.

Russell seems like an odd choice. I don't mean it's bad, I just didn't see it coming. Would have expected Backlund to get one.

The original "Chopper", who passed his nickname on to Al MacInnis.

So does that mean we don't have separate road and home alternate captains like previous years?

Disappointed I haven't seen this yet...
"The writing's on the wall. Backlund is on the way out. What is management thinking..."
Yes, I am kidding.

I imagine they'll rotate a 3rd A. But I will echo I would have liked to see Backlund be a part of the permanent group. I think is play while he was wearing it last year took a leap ahead.

All that "not caring, laziness and disinterest" somehow got that no good Glencross an A..again....weird.

It looks like they see Russel as far more than a stop gap. More as a major piece of the team going forward. Good for him.
