In the US, as the law didn't take into account safety/the life of the woman.

I would like to know in what situation partial birth abortion is the only option to protect the life of a mother.

The way I look at issues like these is I do what's best for me (or my family) and react to my situation with my morals. Obviously I'm not the women, so a lot of people might want to argue my morals there, but it stands to reason I would be with someone who felt the same way as I, and at the very least would at least let me have my say and listen to that with respect and thought.
But me believing a certain way, doesn't mean I think I should put my beliefs on everyone else. I'm not infaliable nor am I the wisest guy who ever lived.
I'm not going to start making laws or taking away choices from other people, even if I do think it's wrong.
That doesn't mean I'm not proactive and don't voice my beliefs, it just means I can let other have theirs as well. If they were more black and white issues like wars, corruption, sutff like that, I might even protest, but on an issue like this one, I can't say my way is the best.

Why not? Its already done. We have laws against murder, rape, theft. In effect, by telling someone they cannot murder, you are taking a choice away from them, aer you not?

ANNNDDDD, that's why it's a controversial issue.
Me myself, no I dont' believe in it, but I'm not going to take away the choice, BECAUSE we don't know the circumstances of each case.
Rape like you said, could be. Health. How much health, do you know, do I? No we don't. Circumsance, wealth, mental disability, all sorts of things play out that you nor I nor the courts could ever hope to get through in a logical and timely matter.
Do a lot of people abuse it? Yes. But do some people really need it? Yes. Just like we weigh our court system to make sure we don't capture innocent 'innocent till proven guilty', so should this be.
And in our screwed up day, with so many children being born that no one wants or no one can take care of, is it really that terrible? I would agree, I don't like it nor want it. But that is a perfect world we are talking about and we are far from it. When every child on this planet has a good home then maybe it would make some sense.
I don't like it, but maybe it's a lesser of two evils?
A ton of conservatives out there to tell you there are easy answers, but unfortunately, there aren't.
