Default FS: New Kingston 120GB SSD - $60

This is a new Kingston SSD I purchased to revive an old laptop that turns out won't support a SSD (no AHCI in BIOS). Of course, I didn't figure this out until I opened the package and tried to install it. My loss = your gain.

- open package, verified it works
- was only used to install Win 7 (no activation code entered, so treat this as coming with no OS)
-120 GB
- receipt availble if wanted.
- Full specs here: http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00A1ZTZOG/r...g=shopbotca-20

PM if interested
For pickup in Kensington (or DT Calgary during the work week)

How old is you laptop? I'm pretty sure my Core 2 Duo T7200 Dell runs that exact HDD (might be the 60GB instead though) and it works great as my dedicated HTPC for streaming netflix.

I don't actually need the drive, but I'm surprised you're saying it's not compatible with an old laptop. This is a good buy. Even a 7-8 year old laptop should do a lazarus for you with this properly installed.

It's a Dell D820 from like 2005. There is no BIOS setting to enable AHCI for this particular SSD model to run. No new BIOS either.

Shame, as it's a great laptop, chained to one very slow 80GB 5400rpm drive....
