One of life's greatest disappointments:
Seeing there is a Hemsworth in a movie... then finding out it is Liam.

The only thing I don't like about that trailer is Liam Hemsworth. That specific role in the movie should be played by someone with less boy band appeal.
And does Judd Hirsch ever age? Dude looks exactly the same as twenty years ago...

Wonder if the plot involves man kind desperately landing a drilling crew on the mother ship to plant a nuke inside before the aliens can make land fall.

That would make me laugh hard.
I contend that the aliens that invaded earth were probably pretty primitive by alien standards. And the humans adapted their technology. I bet that this mega ship is the cream of their technology and civilization, and they stole the plans to a D-link router with security.

A cheesy movie like this screams for an actor like Will Smith.

Rumor is he refused to do another sci fi role. Them killing his character off in the movie storyline was probably a big FU from the writers/producers from that failed contract negotiation.

Are they seriously re-using the exact same Presidential speech?
Thats pretty grim.

Oh. Because I was thinking: You should have already made the 4th of July an international holiday. Thats a thing that realistically should already have happened. As far as Presidential promises go thats an easy one to keep and if you didnt get 'er done last time I dont think people are going to believe you again.
Or perhaps theres a comical scene where instead of getting super inspired that old redneck with the handlebar mustache makes a cameo and says:
"This is crap! Thats what he said last time!"
Furthermore those are some damned punctual Alien Invaders.
"We must destroy the Humans!!!"
"Yes, yes, but its December, we have to wait 7 more months or this whole thing doesnt make any sense! Quick! Get the knitting! Plenty of time to make a quilt! Then we invade!"

Liam Hemsworth is the worst actor I can recall ever watching. Rob Schneider would be better suited for any role he's ever played. I'd rather see Eddie Murphy in a fat woman costume than Liam Hemsworth try to feign emotion, the biggest benefactor of a famous sibling ever.
That movie where the guy goes "you're tearing me apart Lisa" is Deniro in comparison. I bet every single one of us on this forum could act better than him, hungover and on short notice. Watching the Hunger Games Lawrence was visibly annoyed delivering lines only to have him butcher every single moment, it was almost a comedy how badly he messed up that role beside an Oscar winner.
