Default 2013 Fan Cost Survey

Here is a link to a survey done by a marketing company in the US that collected average costs for all the NHL teams in Nov 2013.. Covers food, tickets, parking, souvenirs, and an overall fan cost index. Calgary rates slightly above the NHL average overall. Ottawa is the cheapest, Toronto the most expensive.

Not surprised by the top 2. I can't believe how much people pay to go see the Canucks here in Vancouver; especially being the Canucks.

They must be taking into account season ticket holder discounts because they have Edmonton's average ticket listed at $75 and I think retail standing room is like 60.

My seats are colonnade, cheapest in the second bowl and retail at 98 for the crap games.

Average ticket price is higher in Edmonton than Calgary? Surprising!

All prices are converted to USD at ~0.95. Doesn't fully account for the difference (eg beer=7.84) but gets closer to the table's number.

The top two don't surprise me at all. I am surprised Dallas and Ottawa are so cheap.

I'm also surprised that Ottawa is so cheap. What is really shocking to me is the $9 and $9.50 beers at some arenas. How big are these beers?

The superscript next to the price is how many ounces are in the beer.

^Dome beer will get there in a couple years. I remember looking and seeing that Toronto was paying 7 bucks for a beer when we were 5 and thinking how extortionate that was.

Beer is more expensive in Phoenix than it is in Calgary.

I didn't realize that. Thanks.

Washington has the cheapest beer on that list.

This is true. Saw a game there in February and my premium beer was over $10.

Yep, it's ridiculous. And the last three years atleast there's been talk of them maybe having to lower costs to keep fans coming but they never do. I plan on going to the Flames game after New Years and maybe Friday's game but might just end up using StubHub to get my ticket like the last game of the season.
