I got a good feeling about David Wolf
I have seen many highlights on this guy and recently against the Dino's. I'm impressed.
I am pulling for this guy. The one play in the Dino's game where he got the puck on the boards and then turned to level the approaching player that was gonna hit him was pure awesome. I hope this guy makes the team this year. I don't know what it is, but, I think he is gonna be a fan favorite.

I don't think he'll earn a spot on the Flames right away, but I could see it once he makes adjustments to the north american game.

There is little adjustment to the "North American Game" that Wolf has to make. He plays the game as one of the most hard-nosed North Americans already. Just needs to get adjusted to the speed and skill-level, but not the typical adjustment to North American style.

I agree, and the bold part is more what I was referring to. He is already a good banger, he just seems a little behind the play (not much) at times.

From the Dinos game Wolf shows to be a poor skater. Unless the Flames want to be a circus team for a couple of years, the Flames have better options to them in the minors.

In preseason I would like to see what kind of energy a line of Wolf - Bouma - Byron could bring. All 3 appear to have motors that do not quit.

I think he needs to work on his skating but I think he can do that the best by being in the game. To me, he's an amazing fourth line player. He has to learn exactly what he needs to work on by seeing it first hand, he seems like the kind of guy who would pick it up and work hard at improving.
I'm not saying we throw him to the wolves...more like throw the wolf to them!

Just watched the uofc highlights. and Wolf's hunched style skating and posture on the ice reminds me of Lucic. Not saying hell amount to that though.

His biggest issue is that he seems slow. I think he'll be exposed during the pre season but I think he'll work on it enough to fit in. If he can get a little faster he'll be a lot better.

I always figured this guy would make the team. You have to think, for Burke & the Flames to court this player from the German league, he's probably a pretty unique talent. You don't bring guys over from Europe you just see as your 13th forward

Wolf said he lost a bit of weight over the summer, much like Arnold. Once the schedule of a full season kicks in he'll probably drop a bit more.

Maybe a year in the AHL will do the trick.

I think I would like to see a whole lot more of him before jumping to conclusions. Like playing against actual NHL players.

I don't agree with the posts saying he's slow or really that he has to work on his skating. I was positively surprised by his skating at the Dinos game. He was not slow. He needs to work on keeping his head up in terms of passing, being smarter with the puck, and making plays faster.

He'll start in the AHL. The Dinos game was his first real game situation. I see him up with the team rotationally by December.

He reminds me of the warewolf in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (on skates).
In all serious though, I think his skating may bring him down a bit. I think he'll see time in both leagues next year but mainly the AHL. He intrigues us all and he'll have our support.

I'm pretty sure Wolf could be a linebacker in the NFL. This guy is mean.
He said himself that his skating was slow in the first two periods but he felt better in the 3rd. Hopefully we'll see a beast of a man in the pre-season games, but not in scrimmage.
I could see him succeeding in a 3rd line Bouma type role.

This is what impresses me most reading press clippings from him and his coaches, he is controlled rage.
