Obviously a Veteran pickup for Adirondack, much needed IMO.

He's likely an AHL guy this year and it will help the development of our D-men in the farm. In order to help facilitate development, you need to have guys around you that can play at a good level. It doesn't help if all your plays end up failing because the other guy you're with sucks.

"Potter."
A d-man to sit in the box in Calgary, or play in Adirondack.

The last time Brian Burke's team acquired a player who wore #44 for the Oilers the previous season, they won the Cup.
I don't think that will happen this time.

Brookbank might fill that role as well.

This is the depth defenseman Treliving was talking about. So hopefully this is the end of the additions.
They needed someone like Potter because if the Flames had a couple of injured defenseman the AHL Flames would have been in trouble.

In 2011-12 he had 21 points in 62 games.
Seems to have a little bit of point-producing ability. Good size at 6'3".
Otherwise, I know nothing else of this guy.

Surprised he took a two-way honestly. Glad to have him on the crew. 7th D, A-Flames depth or a surprise value-add. Either way, good signing.
