Default FYI, Did you know you can pay for your purchases at Sport Chek with SCENE POINTS?

I didn't until recently.

A couple of weeks ago, as I was at the Sport Chek cash register with my credit card in hand, ready to fork out $125 + gst for a new winter Columbia jacked for my wife (It was on sale ... regular price of $250) I noticed a card saying we can collect SCENE points with all purchases at Sport Chek. I asked the cashier if we can also pay using the Scene points. She said yes. The credit card went back into my wallet and out came the Scene card. We walked out of the store with a new jacket for free.

Yesterday my wife and I went back to Sport Chek to buy some new shoes (a pair for her and a pair for me). Total cost was $170. Again we walked out of the store with shoes in hand and nothing out of pocket.

I had approx. 13,000 and my wife had approx. 19,000.
Every 10,000 scene point is worth $100.

I always thought that the only place you can use them is when going to the movies (and only certain movie theaters at that) so since we don't go to the movies a lot, they've been accumulating for quite some time.

Yup, I use them mainly for IMAX tickets since they're most cost effective that way.

10,000 points = $100 ---> $0.01 per point
1000 points = $20 (cost of IMAX ticket) ---> $0.02 per point

They are new to Sport Chek, and were introduced back in Nov/Dec of last year. Kind of a nice perk as I don't really ever go out for movies, but I do shop at Sport Chek a lot.
