Flames scout Tom Webster retires
It was mentioned briefly in the Austin Carroll thread, but I thought it deserved its own.
After 50+ years in the hockey business, the last of which was spent with the Flames as their OHL/Ontario scout, Tom Webster announced his retirement. At the draft, he was asked to announce the final Flames pick, and was given a standing ovation by everyone on the draft floor.
He probably had significant input in our last two first rounders (Monahan and then Bennett) -- nice way to cap off a career. Was also the guy that scouted Giordano which lead to him getting a tryout I believe. CF.com did a nice piece on him:
